Steampunk Princess Part 4: More details
So I left off last time fixing her skin and face after my mishap with the paint. I’m at the point that I wish to no longer fiddle with it. It’s not perfect, but it’s much improved. Large scale is interesting like that.
After that I base coated her belts. The bullet belt is a mixture of basic dirt/carnage red. Her pouches are just black.
I also added her arm, which was actually tougher than I imagined. I probably should have taken photographs of that but I was just eager to get it finished.
I carefully pinned her arm and found that I would have to file some of the arm to make it fit. After filing it, I was left with a rather extravagant gap about 2cm large. I filled it in with liquid greenstuff and let that dry for a few hours. After that I gently took a sanding file to the area to smooth it out but still leave a slight seam to match the other side.
From the side it’s hard to tell that it’s even a separate piece. I painted her hair and the band of her goggles to match the corset. The back:
Today’s finished product: She’s almost done. Touch ups, necklace, goggles, pants and belts and she’s good.
Her arm with the pistol however….it’s currently sitting in a simple green solution. Though I was able to mix the colors I wanted for it, the paint ended up clumping up really bad and the pistol just looked awful. @_@
